The awesome power of this legendary 65-member choir, hailing from the artistic hotbed of Prague, will be on offer at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City on November 1. The ensemble gives a rare New York performance that captures Bartholomeus Spranger’s zeitgeist in a colorful program of both secular and religious music, from the artist’s native home in the Netherlands, to Paris, Rome, Vienna, and, finally, the court of Rudolf II in Prague.

This concert, Nov 1st is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Bartholomeus Spranger: Splendor and Eroticism in Imperial Prague exhibit is on view at the museum from November 4, 2014—February 1, 2015.
