About this event
The music, the dancing, the ’80s nostalgia: Footloose: The Musical is coming to the newly renovated Meyer Hall. Based on the hit 1984 film, the show follows Ren McCormack, a teenager from Chicago who moves to a small town where dancing is forbidden. With help from his new friends, Ren challenges the rule and discovers the story behind it.
The award-winning Theatre Department at A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts brings the story to life with energetic choreography, a full live orchestra and songs audiences will recognize, including “Footloose,” “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” and “Holding Out for a Hero.”
Performances: Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m.; Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at 1:30 p.m.; Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m.; and Nov. 7 at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. Tickets: dsoatheatre.com.
