On Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017, The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) will host the inaugural Opening Night of TEFAF New York Spring – the newest platform in the TEFAF organization – at the Park Avenue Armory. For 30 years, TEFAF (The European Fine Art Foundation) has organized TEFAF Maastricht, the world’s foremost fair of art, antiques and design presented annually in Maastricht, Netherlands. TEFAF New York Spring, which has a focus on modern and contemporary art & design, is recognized for championing the finest art dealers and experts from around the world, as well as providing the highest quality art fair experience.  TEFAF New York Spring will bring 92 internationally acclaimed galleries and dealers to participate in its debut edition.

The Opening Night offers The Society’s members, New York’s most notable collectors, philanthropists and leaders in fashion and design an exclusive and private preview of the fair’s sensational pieces before it opens to the public the following day on May 4th.

“We are thrilled to partner with the world’s leading art fair to host The Opening Night for a second time,” said Lavinia Branca Snyder, president of The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering. “This special evening not only brings together the worlds of art and philanthropy, but it actively supports the important programs and initiatives at MSK.”

Proceeds from The Opening Night of TEFAF New York Spring will benefit The Society’s patient care, research and education programs at MSK. More than 2,000 high profile guests from the fashion, art, philanthropic and design worlds are expected to attend this highly anticipated preview, generously sponsored by ELLE DECOR and FENDI.

“We’re delighted to welcome The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering as the host of The Opening Night of TEFAF New York Spring,” said Michael Plummer, managing co-director of TEFAF New York. “We greatly admire the work of The Society, and are pleased to highlight this organization on the eve a fair that also shares the values of being inspired, passionate, and forward-thinking.”
