The fabulous Budapest Festival Orchestra, conducted by founder Ivan Fischer, is playing two All-Dvorak Concerts on June 1 and 2 to conclude this season’s Great Performers series. The performances feature world-class soloists Garrick Ohlsson, piano, and Daniel Müller-Schott, cello, respectively. On Sunday, June 1 at 3 pm the event includes a pre-concert lecture by Michael Beckerman at 1:45 in the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse (165 W. 65th Street, 10th Floor). The music program will be Slavonic Dance, Op. 72, No. 1, Piano Concerto in G minor, Op. 33, Legend, Op. 59, No. 6 and the Symphony No. 8 in G major, Op. 88.. On Monday, June 2 at 8 the program will feature Slavonic Dance, Op. 72, No. 6, Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104, Legend, Op. 59, No. 10, and Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95 (“From the New World.”)
