The Garden-wide exhibition
explores the accomplishments of the fascinating
women who emerged as influential professionals in
the fields of landscape architecture and garden
design, garden photography, and garden writing in the early 20th century.
Garden representatives will lead media guests th
rough the different portio
ns of the exhibition,
starting with an introduction to “Six Groundbreak
ers” featured in the exhibition and a tour of
“Gardens for a Beautiful America: The Women W
ho Photographed Them,” a walkthrough of “The
Edna St. Millay Poetry Walk” and demonstrati
on of the Groundbreakers app, concluding with a
sneak peek at the evocation of “Mrs. Rockefeller’
s Garden,” an elegant and iconic American estate
garden in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.
