Palm Beach native Christopher Leidy hosted the grand opening of the Leidy Images Gallery. The underwater photographer, best known for his impressive large format photographic works, will showcase his collection of limited edition seascapes and aquatic life in his brand new 1,500 square foot gallery.

Growing up surfing and fishing in Palm Beach, Florida lead Christopher to develop an undeniable connection with the water. It was not until years later while working in the film industry that Christopher also realized his love for the camera. It seemed only natural that he mesh these two interests together to create what would become his lifelong passion – underwater photography.
His fearless ability to explore the unknown blue world below along with his keen artistic eye have allowed Christopher to hold many solo shows from east to west, open 3 Leidy Images’ galleries, as well as gain recognition as an underwater photographer worth noticing.

The stunning lifelike pieces were captured during his travels around the globe, including a 3-month stint in French Polynesia, and other exotic locals including Panama, Guatamala and the Dominican Republic. Each piece is created in limited editions of five, and the collection has already garnered the interest of several high-profile clients, including famed musician Jimmy Buffet and New York real estate tycoon Douglas Durst.
Following the grand opening, Leidy will be showcasing his collection in the Elle Decor Showhouse during Art Basel Miami 2011 and the Hangar Gallery in the Wynwood Design District through February, 2012. He has plans to open a second gallery location in Palm Beach Gardens in late December.

Christopher’s nautical adventures have taken him to over 8 countries across the globe, where he has photographed rare and exquisite marine life and seascapes including swimming with whale sharks and diving blue holes. With over 9 collections and over 100 pieces in his portfolio, Christopher is considered one of the premiere underwater photographers amongst his peers.
