John Duron is a Mexican American artist whose career spans over 40 years. His critically acclaimed work in graphite, patinas, oil, pastels, enhanced photography and mixed media, reflect his life experiences, interpreted with his personal blend of expressionism and impressionism.

Duron’s new series, The Bull Run, which includes paintings in oil on canvas as well as mixed media works demonstrating Duron’s masterful technique and skill with tones and textures, evokes “an exciting journey that stretches from California to New York,” says the artist. These exquisite never-before-seen works, express Duron’s experiences, his strength, his travels and recent life observations.

“My works are expressions of my feelings, thoughts and inspiration. The Bull Run is about power, beauty and confidence,” Duron says. “I have traveled to New York City numerous times and it is a city that I am truly infatuated with. New York City, and life in general, command confidence, strength and commitment. In Spanish culture the bull represents that strength and confidence. It is a beautiful and powerful animal. New York is constantly changing with its incredible energy and excitement. It’s a turn-on.”

About S Artspace
Out of a vision to increase awareness and interest in international artists, S Artspace Gallery was born. SAG, located on the Lower East Side, in a historic landmark building, is a 1200 sq ft. forum for international artists focusing on contemporary art. Presenting largely unseen artists and international artists whose works are rarely, or never, exhibited outside of Europe, S. Artspace Gallery is a springboard for international artists to be seen in America. S. Artspace Gallery directors Catherine Testorf and Elizabeth Rosso travel extensively throughout Europe, and most recently, the Caribbean, searching for artistic diversity. Their goal is to encourage free expression to young, emerging artists, and to provide a stage for early-career and mid-career artists through exhibitions and art shows, where all can share their creativity and passion. The mission is supporting the inspiring exchange of art and ideas that extend beyond all cultural borders.
