St. Petersburg, Fla. – The Inaugural “St. Petersburg Glass Weekend” invitational is scheduled for Thursday, March 12 through Sunday, March 15, 2015, and will include a series of exclusive lectures, glass blowing demonstrations by visiting guest artists, artists’ receptions and guided tours of public and private collections.

Co-sponsored by the Chihuly Collection, the Duncan McClellan Gallery and the Morean Arts Center of St. Petersburg, Florida, this event packed weekend is designed to give participants an intimate, in depth experience of the city’s vibrant glass art scene. The city of St. Petersburg has seen an expansion in the art of glass like no other medium; not just in the arts community, but also the interest of tourists, locals and collectors from around the country.

“I’ve seen St. Pete go from a sleepy art town to a regional destination in my 15 years at the Morean, particularly in the area of glass”, stated Amanda Cooper, Curator of Exhibitions at the Morean Arts Center.

Participation is limited to twenty people. Registration costs include transportation to and from venues, most meals, and Museum entry fees.
