ArtPalmBeach Announces 18th Edition

ArtPalmBeach is considered Florida’s most influential and longest running  winter contemporary and modern art fair. This year over 85 international galleries will exhibit works by contemporary and emerging artists. The fairs success is derived from a commitment in developing a portfolio of unique experiential art events including installations, art performances and site specific exhibitions. Over 29,000 collectors attended the 2014 edition,  an all time record  fair attendance.

Palm Beach is America’s wealthiest winter enclave for North American and European winter snow bird residents.  ArtPalmBeach  reflects  this unique community’s sophistication and panache. Located in the Palm Beach Convention Center in the heart of the Arts & Entertainment District the fair  is  adjacent to museums, opera, performing art center and waterfront luxury residences. The fair has  encompass new, creative, cross product partnerships with the region’s arts community an collectors and  museum benefactors.

The fair is committed  to taking a global approach to exhibitor recruitment, marketing and collector development introducing new galleries with international art exhibitions.  Under the  theme Going Global the fair will focus on galleries  and special exhibitions from Asia, Latin America, and Mid-East and Europe.

ArtPalmBeach presents a wide array of daily lectures, artist panel discussions, book reviews and art video screenings. Programming highlights will include:

  • Daily video screenings of Ai Weiwei and Bert Benally’s 2014 film Pull of the Moon, an immersive digital film project sponsored by New Mexico Arts & Culture’s Experimental Dome Program,
  • Pre-screening of Pilchuck: A Dance with Fire, an upcoming  PBS special exploring the history of the institution at the center of the American Art Glass movement set to air in the Spring of 2015.
  • Dr. Irvin Lippman, Executive Director of the Boca Raton Museum of Art will  present “Surrealism and Magic” exploring the surrealists interest in magic and spirituality in conjunction with the museum’s upcoming exhibition, Jan. 26- April 5. Exhibition was organized by the Herbert Johnson Museum, Cornell University
  • Jean-Pierre Laffont, international photojournalist who will gave a talk on his new book Photographer’s Paradise: Turbulent America 1960-1990, Sponsored by FOTOFEST
  • Daily performances by Beatriz Millar titled PLASTIC DORIANNE IN LOVE in a uniquely designed cabaret set designed by the artist sponsored by WhiteSpace Contemporary Art of West Palm Beach

ArtSynergy Partnership with ArtPalmBeach

Over 65 coordinated events  in nine South Florida historic art districts throughout Palm Beach County.   Supported by the Palm Beach Cultural Council, Mayor’s Offices, DDA and Community Redevelopment Agencies, Art Synergy will include gallery receptions, open artist studios, performances, museum openings, lectures and special architectural tours.
